Actually the official name of Geneva Auto Show is International Geneva Motor Show, which Frech name is Salon International de l’Auto. It is held annually in March in the Swiss city, Geneva. Originated in 1905, this show is proud of hosting almost all major internal combustion engined models in the history of automobile. It is both the arena and showcase of the supercars. Let’s take a review of this fabulous show. The 84th Geneva Auto Show was held from 6 to 16 April 2014. This supercar is to mark the 100 years anniversary of the Maserati car maker. It is based on the chassis of the lighter Maserati GranTurismo Mc Stradale with shorter wheelbase of 24 cm, with locking transaxle and Ferrari-derived V8 engine of 4.7 liter 460 hp and 520 Nm at 4750 rpm. It is definitely the shining star on the show. Everyone will fall in love with its design, the curves, bold shoulder line, vertical air vents, and the interior with simplicity and minimalism. „The Alfieri boasts proportions that might well be archetypal for a future true sport car and certainly hint at the brand’s stylistic intentions for the near future,“ Maserati said.

In terms of software and partnership, the most exciting annoucement on 2014 Geneva Auto Show certainly goes to Apple CarPlay. It delivers the apps and functions of iPhone in the car’s dashboard. On the show, it is seen that CarPlay work well in Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. According to the description on Apple website, CarPlay offers functions of maps, phone, message, and music. The icons on the main screen are same as that in the iOS but larger for the sake of clear viewing and thus no distraction of drivers on the road.It is expected that in 2014 CarPlay will be available in the models from Ferrari, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo. It is said that more auto manufacturers will join the CarPlay lineup. BMW, Ford, KIA, and Nissan.

Since you can enjoy phones, messages, maps, and music in iOS interface through CarPlay. Here is another piece of good news for Apple-fan drivers.
