Liner plate expert Rio-Carb says its Ultrasmooth liner plates range’s chromium carbide-(CrC-) based tecnology has a number of advantages for heavy materials handling applications.
Rio-Carb director Colin Maine points out that the Johannesburg-based company is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of CrC-clad liner plates, employing maximum carbide saturation (MaxCS) technology. These plates are specially designed for heavy materials handling applications in the mining and resources industries.
“The revolutionary CrC plates have been proven in laboratory tests to provide up to ten times more wear resistance against abrasion than the industry stagerman quarry equipments price in nigeriandard of 400 and 500 Brinell hardness steels, which are also susceptible to annealing when heated to 250 °C or more,” he says.
Maine notes that the Ultra-smooth variation of CrC technology improves the flow of materials, in addition to reduc- ing sticky friction, commonly referred to as ‘sticktion’.
“Ultrasmooth is a new product that comprises our standard crushers for cement industriesline of plates with a smooth and mirrorlike finish to prevent any sticking and blocking in the chute. This is achieved through a grinding process where the liner is surface-ground with even grinding over the entire surface, including in the valleys and craters. Owing to its vertical crystal structure, CrC also prevents gouging abrasion.”
Using patented MaxCS technology, Maine says Rsoapstone crushing plant supplierio-Carb is able to take the properties of CrC and cast it using the welding process onto a mild steel backing plate, which gives it an optimum hardness of 58 Rockwell and additional flexibility for moulding and shaping.
“Ultrasmooth liner plates comprise 24% chromium and 4% carbide, giving the product a wear life that is eight times greater than that of quenched and tempered steels,” sagold recovery equipment for saleys Maine.
Further, an advantage of Ultrasmooth liner plates is that they contain 50-mm-wide weld beads, as opposed to the indus- try standard 10-mm-wide stringer beads. “This process involves oscillating of the head during the welding process, which creates a 50-mm-wide bead.
“In addition, during our highly accurate plasma cutting process, the gaps between the liners, coupled with stvertical shaft calciner constructionud welding, create a uniformly smooth surface with few surface indentations,” explains Maine.
He highlights that Ultra-smooth is predominantly used in diamond and coal mining applications, as well as cement manufacturing. “In addition to causing delays and lowering production, blockages can also create significant damage to conveyor belting.
“The installation of Ultra-smooth liner plates in feed chutes ensures that no blockages occur when the material is being fed from the chute to the conveyor belts and crushers,” says Maine.
Meanwhile, despite continued challenging economic conditions, Maine says he is confident that Rio-Carb can gain significant market share in 2012 by showcasing the environmental advantages of CrC to the local mining industry.
“Mining operations are becoming more environmentally conscious and are consistently making efforts to shift towards greener equipment to reduce their carbon footprint. Rio-Carb’s entire range of CrC liner plates is environment friendly, owing to the extended life span of the products
,” he states.
