New Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Joachim Martin

Effective May 2, 2012 a new managing director was added to the management team of Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG: As a new member of the company management Dr.-Ing. Joachim Martin will be co-responsible for the management of the metal forming division and joined the management of W. Strothmann GmbH.

In his previous career, Dr.-Ing. Joachim Martin held various management positions at ThyssenKrupp AG, SMS Group as well as Salzgitter Mannesmannroehren-Werke. After many years of managing the metal-forming company SMS-Eumuco GmbH, he became a technical managing director at Salzgitter Mannesmann Stainless Tubes GmbH where he was co-responsible for the worldwide business with seamless stainless steel tubes.

Martin has extensive experience in international machine and plant engineering. Through his activities in the steel-processing industry, he was able to extend his knowledge base on the side of the equipment end-user. Thus, he is familiar with the viewpoints and needs of the customers.

In 2012 the company management has been purposely expanded: In January, Mr. Stefan Wissing became the third managing director next to Dr.-Ing. Hans W. Fechner and Mr. Heinz Classen. Up to that point Mr. Wissing was responsible for managing the Siempelkamp service business and has been the acting managing director of the Siempelkamp subsidiary SLS in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. As part of the management team of the machine and plant engineering business unit he will from now on be responsible for the areas of service, installation, and shipping. He will also remain the managing director of SLS.

Siempelkamp has decades of experience in design and realization of metal forming presses comprising among others sheet metal forming presses for the manufacture of large pipes and half shells, straightening presses, presses for the manufacture of side members, heat exchanger plates, hydro-forming presses, presses for the manufacture of rear axle housings as well as for the complete range of closed-die and open-die forging presses.
The focus is on presses with large pressing forces tailor-made to customer“s specification.
