Companies like Unieuro, monclick, Ausilium, multiplayer, S.G.M. Marco Polo Shop, Bottega Verde and ePrice now use the recommendation solution from the realtime analytics specialist, prudsys. According to the Italian organisation Netcomm, the Italian e-commerce market is showing a clear upwards trend as compared to the retail trade, in particular in the areas of private sales and club shopping. This can be attributed in part to noticeably lower prices in the Italian mail order business compared to retail prices. Also, the enormous range of goods available online increasingly motivates Italian customers to shop there. This way, another module of the prudsys RDE – the prudsys RDE | Newsletter module – can automatically generate customised content in the form of product and content recommendations for each individual newsletter recipient. These recommendations are also based on the browsing and click patterns of recipients in the online shop as well as on shopping basket history, albeit enhanced by additional information on click patterns in the electronic newsletter. These personalised newsletters lead to higher click and open rates as well as to increased turnover.
