Gefen, a leader in digital signal management is going to present its extended series for KVM/Video over IP solutions, Ultra HD (4k) HDMI products as well as brand new video processors for Multiview, Seamless Switching and Video Wall
Munich, 3rd of March 2014 – Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen is going to present its latest products at Prolight + Sound 2014 from 12th-15th of March in Hall 9.0, Booth B.31. New IP based KVM Extenders for HDMI, DVI and VGA and a series of Video Processors for Multiview, Seamless Switching and Video Wall application will be exhibited and demoed.
KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) over IP Solutions:
Gefen´s new KVM Extenders for DVI, HDMI and VGA operate over standard Local Area Networks. The KVM LAN products allow you to feed digital (DVI, HDMI) and analog (VGA) video into a Gigabit Ethernet network and to output is at any place. Moreover they extend USB2.0, RS-232, IR and bi-directional analog audio signals. Resolutions up to 1080p Full HD and 1920×1200 (WUXGA) are supported. An optimized codec allows for a latency of only 1-2 frames, (approximately 20ms), using a visually lossless compression scheme. Simultaneously – through switchable adaption – the transmission is optimized for either static (graphic) or moving (video) content, to ensure the best possible transmission.
Besides complete Sender/Receiver packages, Senders and Receivers are also sold separately and can be combined within the same network. Thus HDMI, DVI, VGA Senders and Receivers can be used together to create a“ Virtual Matrix“, where each Sender can be accessed by multiple Receivers. The units can be placed up to 100 meters away from the network switch. The Extenders are ideal for large scale remote workstation access, and for digital signage applications.
The product range has just been expanded by the new DVI KVM over IP Extender with local DVI output. It extends DVI, USB, RS-232 and analog audio over a Gigabit Local Area Network. Resolutions up to 1080p FullHD and 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) are supported. The Sender is equipped with a loop-through DVI output so that users can install a local display at the computer side for monitoring video. Each Receiver unit has a built-in 3-port Ethernet switch allowing the connection of computers and other IP-enabled devices. The Receiver unit is equipped with a 4-port USB-Hub for connecting devices with up to 500mA current draw per port, providing access to keyboard, mouse, and other compatible devices.
Video Processors for Multiview, Seamless Switching and Video Wall:
Whether it being for a live-show event scenario, a more demanding conference room setup, or for educational environments, digital signage and retail – the Multiview Seamless Switcher offers an enormous variety of application, display and control options at a price of simple switchers / scalers. It displays content from up to four HDCP-compliant HDMI/DVI sources on one HDMI/DVI display simultaneously (Multiview) or alternatively (Seamless Switching). Each of the windows can be individually scaled and positioned on the display as desired. Seamless switching ensures no frame loss during window or picture transitions. Input and output resolutions up to 1080p Full HD are supported.
The 1:4 HD Video Wall Controller divides the image from an HDCP-compliant source using HDMI over four equal sized displays installed in 2×2 configuration. Its adjustable bezel compensation accommodates virtually any display frame thickness and ensures a smooth and seamless transition of video between all four screens. All four outputs can be scaled up to 1080p Full HD.
The 4×4 Seamless Matrix for HDMI displays content from up to four HDCP-compliant sources on one or all four displays with full cross-point routing enabled. Each of the sources can also be individually scaled up to 1080p Full HD with the added ability to resize each image for an impeccable alignment and performance. Seamless switching ensures no frame loss during picture transitions. User-configurable routing scenarios are stored and saved using ten preset buttons.
Besides these solutions Gefen will show its wide product portfolio such as Extenders, Splitters, Switchers, and Matrices supporting Ultra HD (4k) resolution, wireless solutions, Extenders based on HDBaseT® and 3G-SDI Scalers.
Lecture on technologies for video signal transmission (analog and digital):
