Men Are Redefining Midlife Crisis

June 19, 2013 – In the past, many men have stereotypically dealt with a midlife crisis by getting divorced, buying a convertible sports car and dating women nearly half their age.

But a new website called Fit Men Over 40 is helping men to discover that the loss of virility and identity that often accompanies middle age is no longer inevitable.

Many of the conditions that middle-aged men experience, such as depression, irritability, fatigue, weight gain, decreased sex drive and erectile dysfunction, can leave them feeling confused, weak and helpless; whereas before they felt confident, strong and in control. Many men have aptly describe this sensation as „losing their edge.“

„Once they reach the age of 40, a lot of men feel that their best years are behind them. Factors such as high stress, poor eating habits and being sedentary can add up to making them look and feel like a shadow of their former self.“ says men’s health expert and Fit Men Over 40 co-founder J.W. Simpkins. „This loss of ideal-self can make some men act out in ways that are detrimental to their well-being. But what we’re saying is that it doesn’t have to be this way – life can actually get better as you age.“

The Fit Men Over 40 website addresses these issues head-on by providing informative articles, instructional videos and timely news reports highlighting the health topics that matter most to men in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and beyond.

As more and more men are beginning to take a proactive approach to their health by making simple nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes, they are discovering that not only can they avoid any number of life altering illnesses, but they can also profoundly improve their performance in gym, boardroom and the bedroom.
