Lancashire entrepreneur launches regional jobs website

A born and bred Lancashire entrepreneur has chosen the region to launch a new internet venture that is dedicated to providing jobs across the region.

Richard McMunn, originally from Blackpool, has set up a recruitment website which he aims to roll out to other UK regions following the launch of his Lancashire website. www.JobsInLancashire.com will help connect jobseekers and businesses in a more efficient manner.

The best-selling author and owner of how2become – a leading careers and personal development company – hopes the website will boost those looking for work in the region and support employers searching for ideal candidates in a faster, cost-effective way.

Richard McMunn said: “I’ve decided to launch the site in Lancashire first as it is a very buoyant job market. Latest Google figures show over 60,000 people are searching for ‘jobs in Lancashire’ in a typical month – so this proved to me that there would demand to launch a site that would be very different to current models in the marketplace.

“I did consider launching in other regions but decided I wanted to launch this in Lancashire, partly because of my heritage but also because the county has been known for innovation throughout the centuries.”

Former Balshaw’s Grammar School and Runshaw College student Richard specialises in career advice and self-help books and has written over 150 titles to date, including a number of Amazon best-sellers.

Richard added: “For businesses the website represents a simple way to advertise their job vacancies during this tough economic climate. For jobseekers, it is a platform to search and apply for up-to-date jobs from the comfort of their homes or via their hand-held devices on the move.”

The website is free to use for jobseekers who can upload their C.V. and search for work based on a selection of preferred criteria.
