Bangalore, India: The National Defence Academy exam is conducted for class 12 students. It is conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) of India. The questions are generally from the science subjects but, the knowledge of student in other areas like social sciences and English are also tested in this exam. For those who dream of an officer’s career in the armed forces, NDA is the best entry point. Conducted twice a year during April and August months, the written examination is the first hurdle to cross. Applying while in the 12th can help you save a year.

About the Test

• The tests are objective type with negative marking.

• Mathematics and English are the two most prominent subjects.

• The key to success is the speed in finding the right answer. The time available for each question is very limited (approx 1 min).

• Quick problem solving capability must be developed, particularly in Mathematics, where calculations are involved.

• Candidates must practice finding answers from the hints or ruling out the other options.

• Clarity and understanding of basic concepts in science (PCM) is more important than the ability to solve complex questions.

• Emphasis should be on understanding rather than cramming.
