More visitors, more accessories, more exhibitors – the 12th Technology Day at HOFMANN surpassed itself once again! And delighted the mayoress of Rellingen on top.

When faced with an anniversary, it“s time to retrospect. But also time for novelties and outlooks. This year“s 370 attending guest from 42 nations experienced all three at the 12th Technology Day in the HOFMANN halls and outdoor facilities. And many representatives of the international road marking technology and related trades would have come to Rellingen only with great difficulty without the major event which Torsten Pape featured in his welcoming speech at the 12th Technology Day: with the groundbreaking invention of the worldwide first centre line to separate traffic lanes, which was applied in Detroit/Michigan in 1911, its initiator Edward E. Hines (1870 – 1938) had invented the technology of road marking.

„Without this event, we would not be gathering here year after year,“ emphasised Torsten Pape, HOFMANN“s Sales and Marketing Manager. And immediately adds the most important aspect of this achievement: „Road marking has made the world a better, but also a safer place.“

That the Rellingen company for road marking technology, which is regarded as one of the market leaders in the industry, was able to make more than one important contribution to this development, was then illustrated by the deliberations of senior boss Frank Hofmann: „When we initiated this forum I didn“t think that the number of participants would rise from year to year. In the meantime, many of our guests have been participating for many years, they get current industry input and meet for an exchange with business and cooperation partners on a relaxed level,“ explained the entrepreneur. In this sense, his thanks and that of Torsten Pape was directed at the attending guests and international enterprise without which this forum could not take place.

The worldwide rising interest in the HOFMANN event was also evidenced by the many positive summaries which the corporate management could deliver subsequently: For the first time, the 12th Technology Day was graced by visitors from Ethiopia, Peru and the United Arab Emirates, as well as – corresponding to the past years – by guests from Germany, all European states, Australia, Asia and the USA. And with twelve German and international companies from the industry, the number of exhibitors who were able to display and explain their specialized information in the large HOFMANN production hall, got another boost.

But that“s still not all the good news from the 12th Technology Das: „This year, about 40 of our staff contributed to the smooth running of the event. The only external order was for the acoustics in the hall housing the event“ said Torsten Pape. This was very important, however, as the many technical lectures by the invited guest speakers were a highlight of the 12th Technology Day once again. James P. Crocker from the USA spoke about the „Stripe Hog® Waterblasting System“, which later got a practical demonstration at the trade fair, and Rafael Rodriguez was the first expert from Peru to stand at the lectern. He gave a lecture on „Marking materials in Peru“.

There were three more technical lectures. Dr. Eva Kutschmann from the host country spoke about „Flow properties of road marking materials“. This was followed by Jovo Mikanovic from the Ukraine who described „Experiences with the processing of cold plastics in the Ukraine“, while Shafik Nasser from the United Arab Emirates gave a lecture on „Market entry of 2-component cold plastics marking system in the Middle East“. Simultaneous interpreters for languages such as English, Spanish and Russian were available again this year for all lectures.

The organizer was able to top his positive summary with the practical demonstrations of various machines and techniques on the HOFMANN exterior area: A total of 14 demonstrations astounded many of the attending guests – in particular the absolute world novelty, which HOFMANN had up its sleeve at the 12th Technology Day: The articulated H25-4 marking machine for Airless cold colours and sprayable cold plastics is one of its latest developments.

Anja Radtke, mayoress of Rellingen, was impressed by this and by the whole event: „I am very pleased that HOFMANN has kept faith with the location of Rellingen for more than five decades. The company offers valuable work and training positions in the region and safeguards the livelihood for many people“. To finish, she worded her opinion of the expert forum as follows: „I am proud that many national and international business and cooperation partners have found their way to the Community of Rellingen and am thrilled how professionally the HOFMANN Team planned, accompanied and executed the whole event“.

Just like Torsten Pape and Frank Hofmann, the administrative boss of the community of Rellingen already looks forward to the 13th Technology Day in November 2012. Then HOFMANN will celebrate another special event: The company will have existed 60 years.
