Orlando, FL, February 11, 2014 – Soumen Das, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of UniteU Technologies, will speak at the IRCE Focus: Web Design + Mobile Commerce conference in Orlando, FL on February 11th, 2014. The event draws leading experts in eCommerce and mCommerce for two days of training, benchmarking and networking.
Mr. Das‘ talk is entitled Refining Responsive Design-Optimizing Both Server & Client and will introduce key concepts in responsive design strategy and delivery that increase performance, improve the customer experience, and, more importantly, drive conversion. „After leading development efforts to help so many companies evolve from static to responsive design, I’m excited to share the best practices we’ve learned with others.“
Mr. Das will be accompanied by Chris Boomhower, Director of eCommerce for Jewelry Warehouse, Inc., a UniteU client and recipient of Internet Retailer’s Mobile 500, Second 500 and Social Media 500 awards. Together, Mr. Das and Mr. Boomhower will show how Jewelry Warehouse overcame challenges as they optimized their Garnet and Black Traditions website to address the myriad of device sizes and shopping experiences that today’s consumers demand. „We currently run four eCommerce sites and one mCommerce site on UniteU’s platform. Our hybrid responsive design now allows us to address everything from the desktop to tablets and smartphones-and do so faster than ever before,“ said Boomhower.
Forrester Analyst Sucharita Mulpuru reports that, „smartphone commerce and tablet commerce…now generate more than 20% of eCommerce sales for retailers (Forrester Research, Inc., Predictions 2014: US Retail eBusiness, January 23, 2014).“ Mulpuru predicts that over the coming year retailers will invest more in development efforts to support both smartphone commerce and tablet commerce.
„When done correctly, hybrid responsive design ultimately helps merchants increase sales by improving the customer buying experience,“ said Das. Mr. Das and Mr. Boomhower will show how UniteU’s technology has delivered solutions that translate into additional revenue.
For example, working with UniteU the Sacramento Kings were able to implement a hybrid responsive mobile site with ship-to-seat capabilities, where merchandise can be ordered up to two hours before a game and be delivered directly to a fans seat. The Miami HEAT implemented an eCommerce solution built on the UniteU Commerce platform that also brought their web properties into compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA), delivering a superior experience for customers with disabilities. And City Sports increased mobile revenue by 145% with their hybrid responsive sites built by UniteU. Other big-name retailers like Davis Big and Tall, and Sports Seasons are launching sites built on the UniteU platform in the coming weeks.
