Manufacturer of industrial automation technology implements dynamic product finder; CMS integration delivers faster, easier translation management
Boston, MA; Dortmund, Germany, July 17, 2013 – e-Spirit today announced that the FRABA Group, a manufacturer of high-tech products for industrial automation, has launched a new international website in 11 languages using the FirstSpirit Content Management System (CMS). The new www.fraba.com site offers development engineers worldwide unique product finders that enable them to call up detailed product specifications for more than 50,000 combinations of FRABA’s products.
e-Spirit partner kernpunkt GmbH managed the concept, design and technical aspects of the website re-launch and provided CMS selection consulting services. FirstSpirit’s comprehensive out-of-the-box multilingual functions and TRADOS integration were key deciding factors and will help FRABA save time and money managing and maintaining its international Web presence. Also, FirstSpirit makes the editorial process more efficient by enabling content to be easily reused in other Web projects, such as the pages for the company brands POSITAL and VITECTOR.
Out-of-the-box multilingual websites
FirstSpirit’s flexibility and integration capability mean that external applications can be added quickly and easily to address special requirements. „With FirstSpirit, we have opted for an extremely stable system that offers us everything we need to efficiently manage our localized websites. The seamless integration of TRADOS makes working with our international translation partners considerably easier – and increases the quality and freshness of our online digital content,“ explained Jörg Paulus, project manager for the website re-launch at the FRABA Group.
Product finder with over 50,000 combinations
A notable feature of the new website is the product finder, which catalogs the many combinations across the FRABA product lines. Using the product finder filter, special products can be assembled from individual components with just a few mouse clicks. The product finder pulls from a product database to dynamically generate detailed product pages along with supporting images, drawings and technical data. This tool, which can be used to access more than 50,000 product combinations, was implemented using Apache Solr search technology.
Focus on high-quality content
The different brands of the FRABA Group are displayed in the new website using a centralized and consistent layout. The company logos and large-scale product images standout visually and emphasize the coherency of the brands with a focus on high-quality product components. Overall, the website layout was purposely designed to have a clean feel to focus on the needs of the key target group of engineers. Content about the company, products, locations and careers are highlighted. Mobile-friendly versions are offered for www.fraba.com , www.posital.com and www.vitector.com.
