KUKA Systems flexibleCUBE – a standardized welding cell

KUKA Systems presents the new compact welding cell

KUKA Systems is presenting its newly developed standardized cell concept for welding solutions, the KUKA flexibleCUBE. This modular system offers a broad spectrum of cost-effective, standardized components for arc welding.

The KUKA flexibleCUBE is the innovation of a standardized welding cell from KUKA Systems. The product range encompasses flexible, versatile and modular standard packages in KUKA“s proven high quality. As a stand-alone solution, the KUKA flexibleCUBE is a compact cell for automated welding tasks with numerous configuration options based on a modular principle. The Augsburg-based system builder has placed the focus on optimally coordinated components from the KUKA product family. Not only a KUKA industrial robot, but also KUKA positioning units and tried-and-tested standard arc welding packages such as the KUKA-developed KS Arctec welding equipment are implemented. A broad spectrum of automation options for enhancing the process quality, such as an automatic torch cleaner or automatic TCP checking device, help the users to maintain their competitive edge.

The KUKA flexibleCUBE is easy to operate, supports long-term process reliability and flexibility in state-of-the-art manufacturing, and is thus the ideal solution for assuring a high level of product quality. KUKA Systems achieves this through implementation of the latest robot control and welding technology.
„The flexibleCUBE offers newcomers to automation an inexpensive, modular solution with high availability and simple operation. As a manufacturing extension to existing automation systems, the flexibleCUBE with its „Plug & Play“ capability can be very easily and seamlessly integrated into ongoing operations and expanded as required,“ explains Artur Moser, Welding Shop Solutions product manager at KUKA Systems. Further advantages are the ease of installation and the space-saving design. KUKA Systems also paid careful attention to the user“s needs when developing the operating and control concept: „Simulation and offline programming enable the user to respond dynamically to changes in the manufacturing environment. The exceptional upgrade and expansion potential makes the KUKA flexibleCUBE an absolutely secure investment,“ says Moser.

The technological leader has created several variants of the compact cell in order to cater optimally for the different requirements in automatic manufacturing processes. A variety of positioning units are available for configuration of the ideal cell variant with regard to production volume and welding requirements. With its modular design, expandability and wide range of automation options, the KUKA flexibleCUBE is therefore the ideal partner for a dynamic manufacturing environment.
