Clint Eastwood denied Sarlacc pit idea against George Lucas epic spurs!

Now viewers are buzzing about Boba again, but this time it’s because of the very last scene in „The Gunslinger.“ A moment that was supposed to serve as a purposeful, and suspenseful, cliffhanger.

A figure who we can only see from the legs down approached the dead body of Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand, and while the boots and cape don’t exactly resemble those worn by Boba Fett, the sound of „spurs“ is what fans instantly noticed. That, along with the fact that this figure is most likely a bounty hunter (and their identity is being kept a secret).

Whenever Boba Fett walked in The Empire Strikes Back, he was accompanied by the sound of jangling spurs, which intentionally gave him more of a Wild West feel. George Lucas’s original idea is that he wanted Boba to feel like the „Clint Eastwood of outer space.“

So when you take into account the sound of spurs, the obfuscation, and the fact that we’re on Tatooine, which is where Boba Fett was thought to have died in Return of the Jedi roughly five years prior to this episode (after tumbling into the Sarlacc pit), you can see why Star Wars fans are all aflutter.

Of course, this could all just be a misdirection. „The Gunslinger“ could have been filled, top to bottom, with original trilogy references so that our minds would immediately go to Boba at the end.
