The latest star of „The Bachelorette“ may have ended her season with an engagement, but that doesn’t mean fans of the show are completely convinced she’s on the road to an actual wedding. Especially after the recent comments by Desiree Hartsock’s brother, Nate. (You know, the mouthy bro who ruined her chances with „Bachelor“ Season 17 hunk Sean Lowe?) Nate Hartsock told Life & Style that his sis settled when she chose Chris Siegfried at the end of her dream-date marathon.
„Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly, and she wanted the family and to have kids,“ he said. „Obviously Chris wasn’t her first choice.“
But Nate added that his sister is happy with how things ended up. „I think this will be a short engagement. I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer,“ he said. „I think it’s obvious she settled for him, but Desiree is at the point where she’s ‚all in‘ with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her.“
Wow. We’re not sure if talk like that will get him a spot in the wedding party!
As for that wedding, it’s coming, at least for now. (Not to be a bridal buzzkill, but engagements tends to get broken at an alarming rate on this show.) As it stands now, Des told E! News, „We’ve talked about it and we’ve discussed next summer. Not a specific date yet. We want to keep it intimate, if we can have [that and a televised wedding], that would be great for people to share in our love. We’ll see when the time comes.“
The bride-to-be told People that her wedding plans are all over the place. „It’s gone from destination to small chapel to winery,“ she said. „But we don’t need to wait. I could marry Chris tomorrow!“ (And we could find her a winery tomorrow. Remember this guy?)
Considering she’s a bridal stylist, don’t expect her be calling on Vera Wang or Marchesa when it comes time to get a dress design. Des told People she’s „definitely“ designing her own wedding gown. „Twenties-inspired, a sheath dress with beading or lace,“ she said.
Meanwhile, her man revealed that he thinks he and his bride will write their own wedding vows. Not exactly a shocker, considering Chris’s dates with the 27-year-old „Bachelorette“ star often included poems penned by him. And while we’re sure this guy went on the show for the „right reasons,“ he isn’t above finding a way to monetize the experience.
