NBB National Business Brokers has opened a fourth and fifth consultancy office in Hamburg and Munich to support medium-sized enterprises, thus reinforcing its international network and expanding its physical presence in Germany.
In cooperation with the German headquarters in Frankfurt, NBB“s new partners and general directors, Peter Hufnagel (NBB Hamburg) and Joachim Zwicky (NBB Munich) received the „final touch“ during professional training at NBB“s Training Centre in January.
The international consultancy network started 12 years ago with transaction intermediation of small and medium firms (SMEs), and now completes the next phase in its German expansion for mergers and acquisitions, offering its services in northern Germany and increasing its penetration of the Bavarian market. Both of the new partners bring a substantial amount of experience into the German team, Hufnagel with the focus on M&A and corporate real estate, and Zwicky with M&A related to China, where he spent the last 10 years as consultant for one of the big five in the automotive industry.
„The specific nature of the German market grants excellent business opportunities for European SMEs“, stated António Godinho, NBB“s Chairman.
The experienced and proven qualities of their business partners reflects NBB“s efforts towards underpinning continuous growth with a strong support network, especially in project cooperation and knowledge transfer between its several global network teams, thus enabling, magnifying and projecting existing knowhow onto presented solutions.
According to Godinho, „The German market reveals trends and characteristics that can facilitate the internationalisation of any European firm, especially in the area of mergers, acquisitions and partnerships“. He explains „There is a natural aptitude for business in Germany that is reflected in how they approach international cooperation and is closely related to the very Saxon culture. Entrepreneurs reveal great maturity and knowledge for these kinds of transactions which, most certainly, favour a welcoming attitude for business on an international level“.
Carter Looney, one of the partners of NBB Germany, sees an important focus on succession solutions for German entrepreneurs, which is nowadays one of the „biggest challenges for family businesses in Germany.“ Looney further, „according to the German Chamber of Commerce, there are more than 100.000 companies affected by the „Generationswechsel“ and need support for generational transfers. This is where NBB can be extremely helpful.“
Gundo Kahle, NBB“s Director of International Expansion adds „In addition to NBB“s international presence with 70 partners in 28 countries, the physical presence of local offices promotes a more effective client support during internationalisation processes and exploration of new markets, and also enhances NBB“s international reputation, separating its performance from domestic market limitations.“
