The final doppelganger may actually be the Crisis tie-in comic’s biggest one as it integrates Lynda Carter’s iteration into the Arrowverse Multiverse. Outcast and Pariah have a battle on Earth-76 where that reality’s Diana is spotted changing into her Wonder Woman costume. As they battle, Wonder Woman flies off to save a group of kids before they, unfortunately, get taken by the Anti-Matter. There were actually attempts to get Carter’s version of the DC hero in Crisis on Infinite Earths. However, it didn’t pan out and this became the crossover’s way of bringing her show into the DC Multiverse. Since Oliver Queen rebooted the Multiverse, as the Spectre, perhaps Earth-76 was restored in some capacity to leave the door open for Carter’s Diana to show-up on any of the shows down the line.
Prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths, Batwoman became the series to finally confirm the existence of Wonder Woman on Earth-1. In the second episode “The Rabbit hole”, Kate Kane ends up getting to be the first Arrowverse character to ever reference Wonder Woman by name. Throughout the episode, Kate is suspected by Sophie Moore to have dressed up as Batman to save her from Alice. Even though she was spot on, Kate denies it by stating that she hates the Caped Crusader. Kate goes on to say that if she was going to save Sophie in a “dramatic fashion”, she’d suit up as Wonder Woman, confirming the hero’s existence in the Arrowverse.
While Earth-1 was destroyed, it’s hard to imagine that Earth Prime is without a Wonder Woman since it became a huge deal when her name was said on Batwoman. But so far there are no details about this world’s version of her other than that she is a superhero. That is, however, an advantage, for The CW if they ever are allowed to use Wonder Woman in the Arrowverse. Without revealing too much too soon, it gives the creators free reigns to establish who Diana is on Earth Prime and where she is currently in life. But by at least having confirmed that she is active in this world, it’s a neat way to have Diana in this world. Hopefully, there will be a day when the Arrowverse finally gets to use Wonder Woman as she is one of the remaining Justice League members that need to join the franchise.
The Suicide Squad director James Gunn defended the decision to include Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie. The character will be among a select few from 2016’s Suicide Squad set to appear in Gunn’s interpretation of Task Force X, scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
The Suicide Squad went through a number of changes and options when it came to the director’s chair. David Ayer was originally set to return but dropped out in December 2016. The Accountant and Warrior director Gavin O’Connor was then hired by Warner Bros. but he too left the project. James Gunn, fresh off being fired by Disney, was signed in January 2019 and given full creative control of The Suicide Squad.
That creative control included the right for Gunn to include any characters he wanted in The Suicide Squad. In addition to a number of obscure DC villains, The Suicide Squad will also feature one of its most well-known in Harley Quinn. When a fan’s comment on James Gunn’s Instagram post suggested that Warner Bros. was forcing Gunn to feature Harley in the movie, the director delivered a stern defense.
