All eyes will be on the runway Thursday when 39 models strut down sporting colorful and unique designs on their clothes and in their hair.
The Victoria Professional Express Network will be hosting its annual Showcase of Fashions with a theme of Arabian Nights at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Victoria Community Center.
Diane Kliem, chairwoman, said the fashion show will have a hair show for the first time that will feature works by Joe Anthony Pena.
She said the event helps raise money to further the education of its 75 members and scholarships for women in the community.
The members of VPEN meet once a month to hear guest speakers talk about entrepreneurship, communication, public speaking and finance.
About six to 10 members of the organization attend a regional and a national conference each year where they learn about leadership.
Kliem said a number of women from University of Houston-Victoria and Victoria College earn scholarships through the organization.
Fifteen Victoria businesses will provide the clothing for the fashion show.
The event will have silent auctions, live auctions, 10 vendors and food from Guerrilla Gourmet that will be served about 6:15 p.m.
Kliem said 234 people who sponsored tables are set to attend Thursday.
„It’s our biggest fundraiser, and a very enjoyable, high-energy event,“ she said. „It keeps on getting bigger and bigger each year.“Read more at:marieaustralia.com | cocktail dresses
