Last week, Moschino unveiled via their Twitter account that Linda Evangelista would be featured in Jeremy Scott’s first Moschino campaign. We now have insight into the other models that will be in Scott’s fall/winter 2014 campaign.
Those that will be joining Evangelista, include: Carolyn Murphy, Karen Elson, Raquel Zimmerman, Stella Tennant and Saskia de Brauw, according to Fashion Rogue.
The photographer for Scott’s campaign for Moschino was Steven Meisel.
„People often ask me who my favorite photographer is, and it’s Cindy Sherman,“ Scott commented to Vogue Italia, „but my favorite artist is Meisel.“
Each image is in black and white while some of the models, such as Evangelista, are pictured with McDonald’s-inspired accessories.

When looking at these images, one must wonder if it’s Scott’s way of paying homage to Franco Moschino.
According to Vogue, „Franco Moschino relentlessly mocked the fashion system, yet profited by it. He used shows as theater, and humor as marketing.“
„I’m not a fashion designer,“ Moschino stated to Vogue. „I’m a painter, a decorator. I’m not the author of a new era.“
With Scott’s debut collection receiving mixed reviews, including by Financial Times critic Vanessa Friedman (now at the New York Times).
Friedman essentially called out how Scott used a McDonald’s‘ theme, among others, to a point that made her wonder whether a woman or even more specifically, a client of Scott’s, would truly want to wear a party dress that makes fun of french fries?
When examining Moschino’s legacy, Scott appears to be following in the footsteps of what Moschino himself would appreciate.
„Freedom was Moschino’s mantra- freedom from ideas of propriety, from logos, from the wastefulness engendered by trends, from rules,“ as Vogue pointed out.
With the accumulation of Scott’s twist on the golden arches, his decision to take an artistic stance for this ad campaign and him bringing on such a well-known model as Evangelista to lead the campaign, he appears to be blending the Moschino legacy with his own vision.
