Increasing Mobility for commuters

SKIDATA has been appointed by SNCB-Holding to equip more parking lots at Belgian train stations with its excellent access technology over the next five years.

Through a tender process for the supply of equipment for new train station parking lots, the Belgian SNCB-Holding Group chose to go with SKIDATA, a leading provider of access management worldwide. The partnership between SNCB-Holding and SKIDATA started in 2008 and between then and 2012 a total of 16,600 parking spots in 38 parking lots at 21 train stations were equipped with SKIDATA products. Ten new installations are planned for 2013.

Tools for increased mobility

SKIDATA has provided services for SNCB-Holding that will allow centralized administration from three control rooms. This means security teams can monitor all parking lots remotely and can react 24/7 if needed. Since April customers have been able to enter parking lots, ride the train and use the Brussels public transportation system with their mobility passes alone.

Project management is a major priority at SKIDATA

Certified senior project manager (IPMA level B) Herbert regularly holds multi-day workshops for juniors to prepare them for challenges in project management. He also helps give senior staff the finishing polish to ensure their projects, independent of size and location, are a true success. Structure, methods and transparency are especially important here. His professional services team enjoys having customers who are true partners and who often play an important role in developing future products.

The main priorities at SNCB-Holding (Belgium“s national train system) are state-of-the-art solutions and technology that offers their customers the best possible service and supports streamlined, efficient operations. Thanks to current SKIDATA technology, they are truly forerunners in these aspects. SNCB-Holding and their „B-Parking“ operations department completely rely on advanced technology. SKIDATA“s newest tools and systems help centrally manage, control and monitor their parking facilities. Together, we have successfully completed state-of-the-art projects and – according to a SKIDATA project employee – many more are already planned for the future.
