David Beckham is getting set to flex his TV presenting skills this summer as the retired footballer lands a top presenting role in a new sports show for kids. Hooray! Becks on our small screens? We’ve always known that pretty face was wasted on the pitch…
The former England captain will be lending his handsomeness to Sky Sports series Game Changers as he fronts the brand new Saturday morning sports show. Although the live show will be hosted by sprint runner Darren Campbell and presenter Di Dougherty, Becks will be leading a series of masterclasses for the show aimed to get British kids into sport. Yes. Please.
Ever since hanging up his football boots earlier this year, there have been endless whispers that the 38-year-old dad-of-four was considering a career in Hollywood, so this latest move to TV presenting isn’t far off. David told TV Biz about his new venture: “It’s an ambition of mine to inspire more young people to take part in sport. I’m excited to be one of a great group of athletes contributing to Game Changers and working with Sky, who have the passion to make it happen.”
Olympic champion Jess Ennis will also be joining Becks in the show’s special sports masterclasses, as well as some big-name sports stars who will be interviewed infront of the live studio audience.
Good move, Sky. Because if anyone’s going to inspire us to drag our hungover selves off the sofa on a Saturday morning, it’s the beautiful Becks…
Game Changers kicks off on Saturday August 17 on Sky Sports at 9am.
