Tampa, FL, January 17, 2014 – Morgan & Morgan will hold a press conference on Friday, January 17, at 9:30 a.m. at the firm’s Tampa office to address „Rebecca’s Law,“ proposed legislation that aims to create criminal penalties at the state level to help fight the expanding epidemic of bullying and cyberbullying among our nation’s youth.
The press conference will also address the most recent developments concerning Rebecca Sedwick, the 12-year-old girl alleged victim of reportedly severe bullying and cyberbullying who killed herself by jumping from a tower at an abandoned cement factory near her home.
„My goal is to use my personal tragedy to make society a better place,“ Norman, who will be in attendance Friday, said at a November press conference.
In addition to „Rebecca’s Law,“ which would criminalize bullying at the state level, Norman and attorney Matt Morgan announced at that same press conference plans to pursue new federal legislation that would require schools to establish a strict protocol to combat bullying in order to receive federal funding.
Morgan & Morgan’s Tampa office is located at 201 North Franklin Street, 7th floor, in Tampa, Florida.
